The budget supermarket chain confirmed earlier this year that its shop in Kentish Town Road would be closing as it was “no longer fit for purpose”.
More than 2,000 people signed a petition to keep the branch open, but it stopped trading yesterday (February 11) as planned.
A Lidl spokesperson said that it continues to look for a suitable alternative site in the area, but currently has no firm plans.
The supermarket chain added that there have been no job losses from the move, and that staff have been found new positions elsewhere.
It comes less than two years after the supermarket shut its store in Camden High Street.
The nearest stores to Kentish Town will now be in Holloway Road and Tottenham Court Road.
Lidl currently has almost 1,000 supermarkets across the country, employing more than 31,000 people.
